Dear readers,
The time has come to say goodbye. My time here on the blog has come to an end, or at least for the moment. Before leaving, however, I wanted to leave you with a super mega list of the best chat apps to use in these dark periods. As you all know it is easy to get bored and to miss your friends and family so chat apps are a good way to feel less of these shortcomings. Just yesterday The Guardian posted “The best chat apps for your corona-virus quarantine – ranked!”. According to the article, the best five apps in the US at the moment are: Zoom, Houseparty, Google Hangouts, Facetime and Bunch. I personally did not know about any of those but they are all free and like the Irish say they are “good craic”! In fifth place is Bunch: a group video and games app that allows up to eight people to play and it sticks a crown on your head when you win! The first two are Zoom and Houseparty. To be honest with you they are no different from Skype or any other app but they allow up to 100 people at a time on the same call. This could be a great idea for a quarantine/silent disco-style house party! (I want to take the credit for it!- you’re welcome)
Finally, I want to finish off with the one app I believe is the best social media of all: Snapchat! I love it because you can send and receive photos and videos without taking up any space on your phone. I basically only communicate through videos with my friends these days (that also spares you all that typing). You can do video-calls too and it’s got the best photo/video face filters ever!
